Well, I'm starting to come up with some business ideas, here. Someone bought the house I was trying to get, so suddenly I am back at square one. I got to thinking: wait, I'm young, have some money, know how cameras work, and know how business works. Why am I not doing business on top of what I make for me?
So I talked with Tyler. I think we are going to start a production company. There is an untapped market in the MidWest for music videos and other video production. We can make them super easy. Well, I shouldn't say easy. It will be hard work, but fun work. Tyler knows what he's doing, and we're going to get some better equipment and learn the hell out of it.
We're going to try to work on music videos, commercials, and then the eventual plan is to be shooting our own stupid movies. Hell, this is the stuff I do, why not turn it into a company? These companies are few and far between in the Midwest, and I see that as an opportunity. There are a TON of creative people out here, and they have to move to NYC or Los Angeles to "make it." We live in the age of connection, which is why you used to move to those places. You couldn't make those connections anywhere else.
But we have the Internet now. There is no reason we shouldn't be using it. SHOW? is going to be back later this year. I think that is going to help, because I think we're going to use it to talk about what we are doing rather than current events. Do we really need another current events show? Who cares about that shit? It's retarded and I make fun of it on my channel, so why repeat those jokes again on a show?
So I think through SHOW?, Twitter, radio, and good ol' fashioned sales we're going to grow some roots. I'll be talking about it more and more. I really think we're going to hit it with music videos, though. That is what we are going to try to do first. We'll probably even do some free ones.
I will definitely keep updates on this here. I have to say, I am incredibly stoked. I really like this idea. It's such an obvious extension of what I do now. Plus, it will be fun. Giant fun.
